Suicide or murder? All you need to know about Cafe Coffee Day

Café Coffee Day, no more a place to share smile?

No doubt, Café Coffee day is the starbucks of India. While the whole world was getting introvert, busy in their phones; one man V.G. Siddhartha had a dream to pull out the humans out of their home for a cup of coffee and some cheerful talks. With the aim to give a quality service, and food indeed, CCD was launched 26 years ago in the world's fastest growing economy, India.

The company is known for being vertical integrated to cut costs; from owning the plantations, growing coffee on their own 20 acres of land, making the coffee machines and also making their own furniture for their outlets.  As of July 2019, there are 1843 outlets of CCD across 28 states of India. It has also expanded outside India with its outlets in Austria (Vienna), Czech Republic, Egypt and Nepal.

On 29th july(Tuesday), the owner of CCD V. G Siddhartha went missing.  After 30 hours of his missing, his dead body was fished out of the Netravati River, some distance away from the spot where he was last seen. The suicide was solely because of financial pressure. A lot can happen over a cup of coffee and a lot more happened over it. When things appeared to be falling, the business tycoon Siddhartha took his  because of the belief that he failed as an entrepreneur.
This news made everyone surprise. Hundreds of youngsters came to social media to share their message on how CCD  was there for them when no one was.

Media plays the vital role in anything and everything. Due to this copycat behavior and the tradition to manipulate and exaggerate the real news; hundreds of people are getting effected and badly influenced too.  Days after this incident took place, one more suicide case is filed at netravati river. Ganesh, a 32 year old coconut seller tried to commit suicide from the same place in a same way. The local fishermen saw him jumping off the bridge and managed to save him.

The WHO report says, one out of 20 people suffer from depression in India. What is worse is that this is killing humans silently. Siddhartha and ganesh are just two examples that came in limelight in last few day,  national crime records Bureau has provided a figure of 1.3 lakh of suicide in the year 2016 and it's increasing year on year.
